Welcome to Fine Lines, Form and Flowers. I love Botanical Art because it combines scientific observation and artistic expression. As a member of the Board of the American Society of Botanical Art , which has a membership of approximately 1700 botanical artists from all over the world, I do my part to promote this genre of art.
In 2014 I earned the Certificate in Botanical Art from the Chicago Botanic Garden (CBG) and soon after joined the CBG faculty to teach colored pencil drawing for the Certificate Program. My studies continue with Heeyoung Kim in Chicago and I am looking forward to a course with Elaine Searle of the Chelsea School of Botanical Art in London this spring 2018.
One of my favorite pieces, the pen and ink Ginkgo biloba, is currently on tour of the US with the New York Botanical Gardens show "Out of the Woods." The Royal Horticultural Society.has deemed my work "suitable for exhibition".. I just have to complete a project per the guidelines within the next few years!
