Welcome to Fine Lines, Form and Flowers. Botanical art combines the discipline of scientific observation with the creativity of artistic expression. It is deeply rewarding to interact with the fascinating world of plants and flowers through drawing and painting. I hope that joy comes across in my work.
in 2014 I earned the Certificate in Botanical Art from the Chicago Botanic Garden and was later invited to join the CBG faculty to teach colored pencil drawing. My courses are part of the CBG's certificate program in Botanical Art, though artists of any level may join in.
In 2016 the journal editors of the American Society of Botanical Artists selected my pen & ink Ginkgo piece from the Small Works exhibit at ASBA's annual conference 2015 to feature on the cover. The journal, The Botanical Artist, is published quarterly for the membership of the ASBA. Needless to say, I was very honored and encouraged by this wonderful compliment. In October 2016 I will join the Board of Directors of ASBA, which has a membership of approximately 1500 botanical artists from all over the world. It is a privilege to help the organization I admire so much!
